ACADEMY
As many as possible, for as long as possible
Based on the Swedish Football Association’s Play, play & learn, we want to get as many people as possible to play as long as possible and become as good as possible.
Oddevold’s youth activities are one of the leading in Bohuslän and Trestad, and today include over 500 boys and girls aged 5-19 with a stable growth in the number of active members. The youngest children start in our soccer school to be part of our academy from the age of 8-19.
A value base with an individual perspective
All of our operations are guided by our common core values, Oddevoldtråden.
Oddevold’s work must be imbued with an individual perspective and that everyone should have the chance to develop to the maximum based on their own conditions. We respect the equal value of people and everyone is welcome in our football community.
With a focus on development, results are prioritized only in our A team, but there is an increasing focus from the age of 15 to reduce the gap between youth and A teams.
As many as possible, for as Committed and well-educated leaders long as possible
We must have the best leaders and offer the best conditions for individual development.
Our leaders undergo continuous training and together with our player developer as well as our goalkeeper and physical trainers we create the best conditions for educating and developing our children and young people.
The coaches aged 5-14 consist almost exclusively of committed parents, while the head coach aged 15-19 is recruited from outside the parent group.
Close to the A team and maybe further?
Oddevold has a stated vision that the A team should consist of as many players from our own academy as possible.
We want to be the natural choice for young players who want to develop as footballers in our training environment and then take the step to senior in the best possible way. At the same time, we would like to raise talents from the local area to advance in their careers.
A good example is Robin Jansson who came from Bengtsfors IF to Oddevold, on to SM gold with AIK, national team debut and now professional in MLS with Orlando City.
